March 6th: The intermediate representation of movements for sign language developed in AVASAG allows for the first time a highly parametrizable 
generation of signs in German Sign Language (DSG) based on only one single motion capture of the respective sign. The figure shows some keyframes of the DSG sign NICHT in its non-inflected form (top), exaggerated by horizontally upscaling and translating the trajectories upward (middle), and minimized by downscaling the trajectories and moving its execution in front of the chin (bottom). The latter is an example of signing style when using small close-up camera angles, such as on mobile devices.
March 2nd: Invited talk by Pantelis Papadopoulos, University of Twente. 
He is an expert researcher in educational technology and computer-supported collaborative learning and is interested in how emotions influence learning processes. He presented his group’s work on natural language based agents that support a constructive flow in educational collaborative discussions.
March 1st: The BIGEKO research project begins. The ACG is investigating the recognition of communicative emotions for automatic bidirectional sign language recognition and sign language production.
February 20th: For the summer term 2023 (SS23) we are offering the seminar “How to build a Social Computer“.
February 1st: The ComCross research project is launched. The ACG is investigating how to model the driver’s affect in difficult social situations in the city, where pedestrians interact with the driver.
